Richard (Dick) Hanly, Raheendaw and formerly Williamstown, Rathvilly, Co. Carlow – 26th June 2025 suddenly but peacefully at St Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny surrounded by his loving family; predeceased by his loving son Michael, brother and sisters. Sadly missed by his loving wife Marie, children Marie, Richard, Patrick, Olive, Matthew, John, Chrissie and Brenda, sons-in-law Liam, Brian, James and Murt, daughters-in-law Winifred and Laura, brother, sisters, grandchildren Ross, Emma, William, Evie, Annie, Louis and Chloe, cousins, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends.
Gone to his final resting place.
Reposing at Halligan’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Rathvilly (Eircode R93 C560) on Friday from 4pm concluding at 6.15pm. with removal from there at 6.30pm to St. Patrick’s Church, Rathvilly for prayers at 6.45pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 2pm after which he will be laid to rest in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rathvilly.

Jim (James) Byrne, Church View, Askea, Carlow and formerly of Rathvilly, Co Carlow who passed away peacefully, on 1st August 2025 at the District Hospital, Carlow, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved partner of Violet, much-loved father of Tracy, Bobby and Brian and adored grandfather of Hayley, Robyn and James. Predeceased by his son Adrian, parents Joe and Rose, brothers Joe, Chappy and Georgie and his sister Rosie.
He will be sadly missed by his partner and her family, daughter, sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brother Mick, sisters Eileen, Winnie and Anne, brother-in-law John, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, neighbours and Jim’s many friends.
May Jim’s gentle soul rest in peace.
Reposing at Halligans’ Funeral Home, Station Road, Rathvilly, Co. Carlow R93 C560 on Sunday, 3rd August from 5pm – 8pm. Funeral arriving to St. Patrick’s Church, Rathvilly on Monday, 4th August for 2pm Requiem Mass after which Jim will be laid to rest in Rathvilly Cemetery.
